Our Mission

To promote awareness and provide support for the development of cohousing communities that are alternatives to the high cost of living in other senior retirement communities---which include amenities you may not wish to use or pay for. 

To provide affordable, attractive low-maintenance housing for  seniors who wish to live more sustainably in their own homes, and are interested in energy efficient housing.

 To create a neighborhood of like-minded people living independently, in self-sufficent homes they own and who want to balance the advantages of  privacy with those of a community that makes decisions by consenus.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 10,000 people turn 59 everyday. By creating a place where seniors can live sustainably---enjoying the benefits of community while using energy wisely----we want to serve as a model for other communities. In time, we hope  to help save the world's resources one senior at a time by using energy wisely and producing a smaller footprint on our planet by building smaller, and living wiser.

Research at major academic institutions have found people live longer and healthier lives when they are connected to others of the same interests.

It is the best of times for cohousing! In today's market and economy, it makes even more sense.
